What data the extension reads

The Hire4Real browser extension reads the following data only from LinkedIn and Indeed job pages that you visit:

  • Job title
  • Company name
  • Job description text
  • Job posting URL

This data is read from the page DOM when you visit a job listing. The extension does not read data from any other websites or pages.

What data is sent to our server

The data listed above is sent to hire4real.fyi via HTTPS for Ghost Score analysis. The request also includes:

  • Your session cookie (for authentication and tier enforcement)
  • Extension version number
  • Browser type (Chrome, Firefox, or Edge)

No other data is transmitted.

What data is stored locally

Ghost Score results are cached in your browser's local extension storage for up to 24 hours (configurable). Cache entries contain:

  • A SHA-256 hash of the job details (not the raw text)
  • The Ghost Score result
  • Timestamp of when the score was fetched

User settings (auto-scan preferences, display options) are stored in browser sync storage.

What is NOT collected

  • Browsing history
  • Personal information or form inputs
  • Cookies from other websites
  • Data from non-LinkedIn/Indeed pages
  • User activity tracking or analytics
  • Page URLs beyond the job posting URL

How to delete your data

  • Clear cache: Open extension settings and click "Clear cached scores"
  • Uninstall: Removing the extension deletes all locally stored data
  • Server data: Request deletion at privacy@hire4real.fyi

Third-party services

The extension communicates only with hire4real.fyi. No data is sent to any third party.

Data retention

Local cache: 24 hours (configurable, max 48 hours). Server-side scan records follow the main privacy policy.

Your rights

Under GDPR and similar regulations, you have the right to access, correct, delete, and export your data. Contact privacy@hire4real.fyi.

Children's privacy

The extension is intended for users age 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (COPPA).
